A Thanksgiving Meal Fit for Fido

dog dressed as an indian for thanksgivingEven as pet nutrition pros, we’re guilty of slipping our pets a small bite of people food here and there – and Thanksgiving is certainly no exception. As a holiday centered on food, we think it’s only fair to include pets in the festivities! But, the truth is, some of the ingredients that go into our Thanksgiving fare aren’t exactly good for our pets, so we came up with a little compromise for your canine.

As you’re prepping, set aside some of the boiled sweet potatoes and regular potatoes (before mashing with all the extras), cranberry sauce, and some turkey gravy (without onions). Once the turkey’s done, remove the skin from a few pieces and dice ‘em up. Mix everything together (or you can opt for a better presentation if you wish) and serve! Not only will Fido be completely pumped on this Thanksgiving treat, you can rest easy knowing you’re not feeding them any unnecessary butter, salt, marshmallows, or incognito onions.

And for the rest of the year, perhaps you should consider Turkey Liver Pro-Treats or even our Freeze Dried Turkey Recipe to make it Thanksgiving every day without the unhealthy add-ons.

From our fur family to yours, wishing you a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
